History and Community Presence
Family Abuse Services of Alamance County has been dedicated to the prevention and intervention of domestic violence through emergency relief support as well as promotion of healthy lifestyles and relationships since 1985. FAS partners with key community agencies, institutions and organizations utilizing a variety of programs in an effort to reach into the future and erase the threat of domestic violence. The public sector organizations include local law enforcement personnel from the cities of Burlington and Graham and others in Alamance County, the Alamance County Sheriff's Office, Alamance-Burlington School System and others. Other private/non-for-profit partners include: Legal Aid of NC, Alamance Regional Medical Center, CrossRoads: Sexual Assault Response & Resource Center, The Exchange Club Family Center in Alamance, Women's Resource Center, and Alamance County Department of Social Services.
